Denise is the founder of Rock Salt Therapy which is the first place in Denver to offer this type of alternative therapy. This therapy creates a negative ion environment which is what we experience at a beach, waterfall or in the mountains. Why did you choose this neighborhood for your business?
As a Denver native, I continued to see the growth and expansion in the Lohi area and the Sunnyside neighborhood was a perfect fit for walking traffic as well as a destination. Convenient off both I-70 and I-25 it was a great fit.
What about the neighborhood jives with your business culture or your lifestyle?
I most love that you will find diversity, open minded people, new Denver residents as well as some here over 50 years. We see a lot of walking traffic and the location is easy to find and access for my clients coming from both Northern and Southern Colorado.
Why are you passionate about your business or your community? What’s the story?
My love of the healing industry began 19 years ago and when I discovered salt therapy 5 years ago. It was such a natural fit with my entrepreneurial nature that I decided to open up Denver’s first salt therapy spa. Kids are our true passion so they may grow up with one more wellness tool to maintain healthy respiratory systems and boosted immune systems for life. Our community is incredible. As we are a small start-up and rely heavily on our referral network, excellent customer service and the community to help us grow.

What inspired the look of your business?
My vision for the business was to have the space feel comfortable, home like and warm, an “Every day Spa for Everyone”. Many of our Clients have commented about the ambiance and feel of the space. Although you are likely to see salt on our floors and taste it in the air, salt is actually quite cleansing. We use citrus based cleaners and built our rooms to be cleaned from top to bottom for our Cystic fibrosis Clients. We are wheelchair accessible and small groups and parties may reserve our Community room for special events.
