South City Park
Are you from CO?
No, we moved here two and a half years ago from the Madison, Wisconsin area for a job opportunity for my husband, Jeremy.
Why did you choose City Park?
When we first moved here, we lived northwest of the city near Sports Authority Field. That was two years ago when the Broncos went to the Super Bowl previously. We loved the energy around the stadium that year! After that, we decided to move to the east side to experience both sides of town which is where we found our current home in South City Park. My husband works on 16th Street Mall and bikes to work so we wanted to make sure we were within a certain proximity to LoDo. We also love South City Park’s location to the park, zoo and museum since we have a 5-year-old son named Jack. We have been taking him sledding down the hill in back of the museum and we have a blast! It’s such great neighborhood to combine family friendliness and city living.
What are your favorite local places?
One has to be where we are holding this interview (Jennifer and I met at the hoppin’ coffee shop ‘Hooked on Colfax’)! We are definitely foodies; my husband is a former chef so our family really appreciates all types of cuisine. We are slightly obsessed with the Korean BBQ joint Dae Gee on 8th Ave, so much so that you may just find us there weekly (our 5-year-old even loves the kim chi pancakes!). We also enjoy Shells & Sauce, Tag Burger Bar, Sushi Harbor and Erawan Café.
How would you describe the personality or “vibe” of City Park?
Very eclectic, which fits us well because we really enjoy the mix of all age groups, backgrounds and people. I was recently elected Secretary of the South City Park Neighborhood Association (www.scpna.org) and it’s great to be plugged into the neighborhood to hear about the changes and improvements coming our way, they’re all so exciting and will go a long way to further improving an already great area.
Why are you passionate about your business? What’s the story?
I like to help others and especially other women. This product was designed by the creators of Proactiv Solution and is on track to become a billion dollar brand by the end of this year. The reason why is simple—it works—it’s changing lives and changing skin! If I am able to help another woman who wants to improve her appearance or better her family financially, I’m thrilled!
