Meet Katharine McGuiness owner of McGuinness Studio. She lives and runs her business in Golden Triangle. She has a clear passion for this neighborhood, the arts & everything it has to offer. She is a talented local artist whose work you will see featured around town. Make sure to visit her at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival or in her Golden Triangle studio!

What neighborhood do you live in?

I live in Golden Triangle.

Why did you choose this neighborhood?

I have had McGuinness studio here since 1997. I chose this location because my studio is perfect for my work and the location could not be more central. Everyone knows how to find me!

I run McGuinness studio; I am an artist, a printmaker. I’m two blocks from the central library which is great for research & picking up a book on CD which keeps me company while working.

I am one block from the art museum, two blocks from the Clyfford Still museum. Curious theatre is great & right next door.

I am one block from the Art Hotel! I love to get a morning coffee there. It is so much fun. There are five coffee houses in walking distance so where I go depends on my mood.

Everyone in the area has a dog so my dog and I get plenty of friendly encounters on our walks.

Big Taco Place is going up on the corner which will be fun but one block up on Broadway from me is Quijote’s. A family run Mexican food place. Its real- the chili is fabulous!

Galleries are a stone throw- Walker Fine Art, Sandra Phillips, Goodwin Fine Art. The Santa Fe galleries are in walking distance as well.

This really has been the perfect area for my studio and I’m able to close my door, mix my inks and step into a zone where I am oblivious to all the places I just said I was thankful for.
