A New Spirit Wellness Center & Spa takes to heart the philosophy that“ if we are kinder to ourselves we are in turn kinder to others” , helping the Denver community every day with treating themselves with care. They are all about taking care of your mind, body and spirit as a way of life. As a fun fact, A New Spirit Wellness was the first float center to open since the mid 80s, they source their products locally, and the spa also doubles as an art gallery that often features live bands. A-New-Spirit 2Why did you choose Sloan’s Lake to do business in?

Andrea was on a spiritual quest and was looking for a business to purchase in 2004. Sloan’s Lake wasn’t a popular neighborhood at that time, so she wanted to bring something unique to the area since it seemed so underserved by local flavor.  The spa building was for sale so I took a leap of faith and bought it! For the past twelve years, Andrea and her business have been growing and learning. She is also now a proud member of the Highlands Merchants Association.

What about this neighborhood jives with your business culture?

Younger people are moving from downtown and the neighborhoods around the lake are being re-discovered, which has helped the business flourish. More people in the area are knowledgeable about stress relief, avoiding illness, want to take care of themselves and staying fit which is a perfect match for A New Spirit’s offerings. I was also excited about bringing a small business to the area and have been very happy to see many others join me as well in the years following.

Why are you passionate about your business? What’s the story?

Andrea’s passionate about her business because personal wellness is awesome! It’s fun for her to see her clients taking care of themselves and learning how to do so along the way. The spa industry is now more recognized as a way to take care of the mind, body and soul. It’s great to see people be more natural, care about the environment they live in and eat healthy food.

What inspired the look of your business/ the design?

The elements – earth, water and air represent the look and atmosphere of the spa. I wanted each guest to feel calm, relaxed and rejuvenated, and the best way to do that is to bring nature’s presence into our services and design.

Currently there are 20 employees ready to help you, and the spa is open 7 days a week.
