Meet Myra Young, a Congress Park local who is eclectic and fully represents the Congress Park vibe. She shares her take on the personality of our city, Congress Park & gives some great tips on local places to visit!

Why did you choose this neighborhood?

Because it’s close to work. I’m able to walk to work now, which is amazing. There is so much to do within walking distance. It’s central to everything in the city. It’s a vibrant community and I love the character of the buildings and homes here.

What are your favorite local places?

Mezcal, Annie’s, Trattoria Stella, TAG Burger Bar, Endorphin Gym, Hooked on Colfax

What do you love about Denver?

I love that the mountains are so close and that there are so many cultural things to do. There is also a great music scene.

Are you a native?

Yes

How would you describe the personality or “vibe” of Denver?

Denver is an urban city and everything that entails, but is also very friendly and has a Western feel.

Congress Park?

Congress Park is eclectic. There is a good mix of young and old – the neighborhood has an old Denver feel with beautiful traditional brick homes and buildings and also an urban bustling feel – it’s a good mix of quiet and bustling. It’s a neighborhood of contradictions.

How would you describe your personality?

Eclectic – I have a broad range of interests – I’m geeky and creative and a little bit of a rebel. I’m a Tibetan Buddhist, a Dead Head and a health care provider. I guess I’m full of contradictions as well 🙂
